Insert Fittings

NDS insert fittings are made to fit 17mm tubing or dripline. They feature barbed ends that fit into the tubing or dripline and anchor into place. Selection includes the ball valve, coupling, cross, elbow, tee, and wye.

Applications

  • Use fittings to set up a new drip irrigation system, expand an existing system, or make repairs

  • Use for subsurface or on grade installation; works with tubing or dripline to transport water to trees shrubs, flower beds, groundcover, vegetable gardens, plants in pots, planter boxes, and hanging baskets

  • As part of a complete drip irrigation system, the 17mm fitting fits 17mm tubing or 17mm dripline or to other drip irrigation parts to transport water to the area to be irrigated

Installation & Maintenance

  • For the connectors, insert barbed fitting into 17mm tubing as far as it will go; barb will hold the product in place

  • For the ball valve, install between two lengths of 17mm tubing where the flow of water needs to be controlled; insert barbed ends into tubing

  • Periodically check for leaks or damage and repair as needed; recommended operating pressure for most fittings is up to 50 PSI

  • Ball valve is made of Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) treated with UV inhibitors to prevent fading and cracking

  • Connectors are made of polyoxymethylene (POM), also known as acetal, treated with UV inhibitors to prevent fading and cracking

  • Ball valve is made in Austria

  • Connectors are made in the USA

  • Drip irrigation can reduce water usage by up to 70% compared to conventional sprinkler irrigation when used properly; for most drip irrigation products, water is applied precisely and at the rate the soil can accept it to prevent runoff and erosion
